the main corporate party for the SF office was not your typical party...they bused us out to the DC (about 1 hour away), we had a luncheon and then built bikes for the boys & girls club. the thought of being pulled out of the office for an entire day during a short week, the week before christmas made me ill. work has been beyond hectic and i really was not prepared to be out of the office...but as soon as we started building our bike...i knew it was going to be a good day and all worth it.
we were able to customize each bike for the kids at the boys & girls club. once the bikes were built, decorated and tested for safety we all voted for our favs. then the magic happened when about 20 kids came running in to pick our THEIR fav bike. it was so cool to see the looks on the kids faces. there was one adorable girl who walked by our bike with a twinkle in her eye, she kept going and after looking at all of the bikes she came right back to our bike with a big smile.
